QEII Oral History Project

In 2007, QEII National Trust commissioned an oral history project to record the story of the Trust’s unique establishment and development over the 30 years since 1977.

The aim was to hear a representative range of first-hand experiences covering the Trust’s inception up to the present day through interviews with twelve covenantors, board members and employees.

The recordings are held by the Alexander Turnbull Library and are available on loan to researchers and interested people.

QEII thanks the interviewees who gave up their time, Shona McCahon who conducted the research, and the NZ Lottery Grants Board for the funding that made this oral history project possible.
